LARGEST TURNOUT WE'VE EVER HAD!

Thank you SO MUCH for your support of Union County Crime Stoppers

Crime Stoppers 31st Annual BBQ -January 20th, 2023.

Crime Stoppers is an non-profit organization of citizens against crime in Union County, NC.

Did you know….?

The Annual BBQ is the only fund-raiser Union County Crime Stoppers holds each year.  The funds are used primarily to provide cash rewards of up to $5,000 to individuals with information that leads to an arrest of someone responsible for a crime in Union County, North Carolina. The caller may remain anonymous when providing information. Cash rewards have resulted in persons being arrested for some of the most violent crimes in Union County.

Each year...

Union County Crime Stoppers gets excited for its Annual BBQ. The 2023 BBQ was held on Friday, January 20th, 2023 from 11:00am - 6:00pm at the Union County Agricultural Center. This was the largest turnout we've ever had. We fed over 5,000 people; dine-in, take-out, and delivery.

Thank you Rodney Pierce, for preparing fantastic pork and turkey.

Thank you to our presenting sponsor Hendrick Chevrolet Cadillac Monroe.

The event kicked off with Village Green performing. Also, we announced the Union County Crime Stoppers Law Enforcement Officer of the Year, Detective G. Mayer.

Special Guest this year include: Union County Commissioners: Melisa Merrall, David Williams, Stony Rushing, Richard Helms, and Brian Helms; Miss North Carolina 2023, Karolyn Martin; Union County Sheriff, Eddie Cathey and his agency; Union County District Attorney, Trey Robinson; U.S. House of Representatives, Dan Bishop; State House of Representatives, Todd Johnson; Clerk of Union County Superior Court, Wendy Maynard; Chief District Court Judge, Erin Hucks; Chief Resident Superior Court Judge, Jonathan Perry; and Miss Unionville 2023, Amber Helms.

Thank you to the numerous volunteers and law enforcement officers who worked tirelessly to prepare for this event, to all who helped raise money for the Union County Crime Stoppers' one and only annual fundraiser. Proceeds help provide rewards towards anonymous tips given throughout the year that help to enable law enforcement to solve crimes in Union County.

Thank You to our Volunteers

Union County Crime Stoppers is a 501(c)3 organization operating solely by volunteers. There are no paid employees.

They begin days ahead to make sure everything is purchased and set up ready to go the day of the barbeque. They come one day prior to begin preparing and setting up. On the morning of the event they show up early to get everything ready to go out the door by lunch time. There are also teams of police officers that deliver take-out meals to area businesses who can't make it to the Ag Center for lunch.

We couldn't do it without all the volunteers who work tirelessly to make the event a success! Special thank you the Union County Sheriff's Office, Monroe, and many more community members who gave time and energy making the Union County Crime Stoppers' BBQ the best one yet!

Come out and meet Miss North Carolina, Karolyn Martin.
